The Geneva Foundation is a non-profit organization created in 1993 with the sole purpose to support and promote the advancement of military medicine. Our focus is providing quality service to our medical researchers and excellence in education and training programs nationwide. The Geneva Foundation provides management and administrative expertise in the area of federally funded research grants, privately funded clinical trials, and medical education and training programs.



Description:

As an employee of The Geneva Foundation, you will work at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) -- a state-of-the-art biomedical research laboratory in Silver Spring, MD, with subordinate laboratories in Asia, Africa, and Europe. As the Proposal Manager, you will work directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) and the Director of the Sponsored Research Support Program. You will have the primary responsibilities of:

• identifying funding opportunities through customized keyword searches;

• managing the proposal production and submission process for obtaining research funding from NIH, other government agencies and private foundations (in fields of infectious diseases, post-traumatic stress disorder, neural trauma, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, vaccines, drug development and psychology);

• developing proposal compliance checklist;

• editing for format, clarity, grammar, RFP compliance, and message;

• developing budgets, budget justifications, resource pages, letters of support and other proposal documents;

• managing several concurrent proposals;

• providing rapid responses in a fast-paced environment;

• monitoring progress on proposal documents to assure timeliness and quality of response; and,

• marketing proposal development/submission services to Principal Investigators.



Qualifications:

BS degree (minimum)

experience managing proposals

excellent verbal and written communication skills

a high level ability to use Microsoft Office products and other proposal preparation tools

ability to work a flexible schedule; self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented

ability to self-prioritize activities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
