An Invitation Designer is responsible for generating sales, design and production of custom invitations and stationery for a fast paced retail environment that specializes in invitations for many occasions. The ideal candidate would be someone who has a passion for creating and selling invitations. Specific roles and responsibilities include the following:



o Selling, designing and producing invitations

o Creating proprietary invitation designs

o Maintaining vendor books and Blue Tulip custom books

o Sell, place and follow-through on all vendor orders

o Ensure all styles of imprintables, creations and books are represented in the department to reflect the Brand’s visual merchandising standards.

o Sell, design and produce personalized stationery for customers in the timeframes promised.

o Train and develop all gift experts to be knowledgeable in the printing department.

o Attend Bridal and Trade Shows to promote the Brand and the printing business.



Requirements:

o Knowledge of MAC and PC platforms a plus

o Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop

o Knowledge of printing files on a desktop inkjet or laser printer as well as scanning on a desktop scanner

o Ability to prepare files for commercial printing

o Strong design and typography skills

o Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work within specific timeframes

o Comfortable working in a demanding fast paced environment

o Good communication skills and ability to work with directly with customers

o Production skills including: cutting, tying bows, gluing

o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

o Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
