About Greater DC Cares: Greater DC Cares is a non-monetary community foundation facilitating the investment of community assets other than money, including volunteers, pro-bono consultants, skilled volunteers, nonprofit board members, goods and services. Job Description: To coordinate and expand the Flexible Volunteer Program (a monthly calendar of traditional volunteer projects) and the Citizen Academy Program (our issue education/advocacy program).
The Program Coordinator is responsible for:
- the coordination and the expansion of the Citizen Academy issue education/advocacy program, which includes, but is not limited to:
- the creation and dissemination of the weekly Citizen Academy email that focuses on civic engagement activities both internal and external to Greater DC Cares,
- the organization and facilitation of monthly in-house Citizen Academy issue education forums,
- the creation of all supporting materials for in-house workshops (i.e. fact sheets and speaker bio sheets, etc)
- the establishment and management of strategic partnerships with allied organizations and issue experts.
- the organization of the monthly volunteer calendar, which includes, but is not limited to:
- the intake of nonprofit volunteer needs that fit the Flexible Volunteer Program structure,
- the recruitment, training, and placement of project coordinators,
- the tracking of all volunteer hours.
- the research and establishment of a team-based volunteering program,
- the evaluation of all aforementioned program processes and impact.
- the annual budgeting process for all aforementioned programs.
- Any other duties as necessary.
