We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Project Manager. The job description below provides all the details for the position.

POSITION: Project Manager



PURPOSE OF POSITION: Project Managers at ASET are directly responsible for coordination of the translation, graphics, engineering and publishing processes required to produce multilingual documentation, web sites and software packages for an international clientele. Project managers schedule and manage up to 10 projects simultaneously. Project Managers coordinate with translators, editors, desktop publishers, copy editing, formatting documents, ensuring compliance with our translation quality control procedures, and meeting deadlines.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage client accounts

• Coordinate the translation, graphics, engineering and publishing processes required to produce multilingual documentation, web sites and software packages for an international clientele

• Schedule and manage several translation projects (of varied complexity) simultaneously

• Determine approximate project schedule and cost

• Negotiate with and coordinate internal and external resources (translators, editors, desk-top publishers, software engineers, and software testers)

• Track assignment and progress of action items, proactively identify issues/potential issues, and take action to prevent time delays or increased costs

• Format documents in certain software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ensure compliance with strict translation quality control procedures

• Attend internal project meetings to discuss various aspects of current or future projects

• Deliver final project in established format and within established timeframe

• Follow up with client post-project to determine client’s level of satisfaction and future needs

• Maintain records of expenses and approve payment for contractors. Review and approve contractor invoices

• Attend team meetings to analyze past projects for lessons learned



JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must Have Translation or Localization Project Management Experience or an

interest in the field

• Use foreign language skills to answer linguistic questions.

• Four Year College Degree

• Knowledge of Trados and other translation tools is a plus

• Minimum 2 years of foreign language study required; English fluency.
